Here is a brief video showing you how to play an excellent left-hand guitar technique exercise.

W hen your thumb is behind your second finger, it's much easier to play chords with big stretches. You can also play on the tips of your fingers which will facilitate cleaner slurs (hit ons and pull offs.)
